October Quarterly Program: “Dancing Eagles” Native American Dance & Traditional Storytelling

Join the Vernon County Historical Society for the closing program of the exhibit “Patriot Nations: Native Americans In our Nation’s Armed Forces”. This traditional American Indian Dance and storytelling performance by Michael & Lisa Pahsetopah will focus on the ways in which Native American cultures honor their military veterans.

Dancing Eagles performs spectacular Native American dances and traditional storytelling that are structured to entertain and educate all types of audiences. Performances include specialty, traditional and social dances. Audience participation is incorporated for individual experience. A narrative and explanation of the history, type of dance and clothes are told to help highlight the performances. The event is free and open to the public.

Special Exhibit – Patriot Nations: Native Americans In Our Nation’s Armed Forces

Patriot Nation is a traveling exhibition from the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian. The exhibit explores the ways in which Native men and women have served America’s Armed Forces in every major military encounter from the Revolutionary War to today’s conflicts in the Middle East. Visitors will learn how Native American servicemen and women served to protect and defend the U.S.S
