The Bushwhacker Museum and the Bushwhacker Jail are both conveniently located in downtown Nevada, MO. The Bushwhacker Museum is located at 212 West Walnut in the lower level of the Finis M. Parking

You may park in the Library/Museum parking lot at the Corner of Ash and Walnut.  Parking on the street around the square and 1 block either side of the square is limited to 2 hours on weekdays. Additional parking is just north of the Library/Museum in the Community Center parking lot.

Driving Directions

From the North off Interstate 49
From I-49 take the 2nd Nevada Exit.  Continue straight off the exit onto Osage Blvd.  You will go through one stop light and come to a T intersection at the second light.  Turn right (west) on Austin BLVD./Highway 54  Continue west to the second stoplight (Austin and Ash – McDonalds is on the corner).  Turn right (north) on Ash and continue 2 blocks to Walnut.  Turn right on Walnut and the Library/  Museum is on your immediate left.

From the South off Interstate 49
From I-49 heading north, take the 1st Nevada Exit (Nevada/Camp Clark). Turn left (west) off of the exit onto Austin BLVD.  You will go through 4 stop lights.   Continue west to the 5th stoplight (Austin and Ash – McDonalds is on the corner).  Turn right (north) on Ash and continue 2 blocks to Walnut.  Turn right on Walnut and the Library/Museum is on your immediate left.

From the East Highway 54 from El Dorado Springs, MO 
After entering Nevada, you will come to a stoplight at a T Intersection.  Highway 54 turns right (west).  You are now on Austin BLVD./Highway 54.  Continue west to the third stoplight (Austin/54 and Ash – McDonalds is on the corner).  Turn right (north) on Ash and continue 2 blocks to Walnut.  Turn right on Walnut and the Library/ Museum is on your immediate left.

From the West Highway 54 from Ft. Scott, KS
Coming into Nevada from the west, you will pass the first stop light at Cottey College.  Continue east to the next stop light at Austin BLVD/54 Highway and Ash Street (McDonalds is on the corner).  Turn left (north) on Ash Street.  Go north two blocks and turn right (east) on Walnut.  The Library/Museum is on your immediate left.
