Internships

Cottey College in Nevada is now offering classes in Public History, which encompasses the study of museum management.

As part of that curriculum, Cottey purchased two copies of “Past Perfect”, the museum software used by the Bushwhacker and many other museums in accessioning and tracking artifacts. Students will learn standard museum procedures as they train with the software.

In a coordinated, mutually beneficial partnership beginning in the fall of 2010, Cottey began to select interns to receive practical, on-the-job experience at the Bushwhacker. Already experienced with our computer software, these students will work directly with museum personnel doing accessioning and cataloging of artifacts.

These internships will be unpaid positions, but each student will receive college credit for their efforts, and the Bushwhacker will benefit from the assistance of pre-trained student personnel.
